The Maze Team: What You Can Expect

This is a place where you can be yourself, tell your whole story (and be heard) and receive treatment uniquely attuned to your needs. Here, we treat the whole person.

Maze Women’s Sexual Health was founded over twenty years ago, and is dedicated to helping women solve their sexual health challenges with care and compassion. Our highly experienced staff, from multiple disciplines, is trained specifically in female sexual health. At Maze, you can feel perfectly comfortable discussing your sexual issues. And we can assure you, you’re not alone. Nothing you can say will shock us. We’ve heard it all.

We believe in a multifaceted approach to resolving sexual problems, whether they have evolved recently, or have lingered for years. By integrating education and psychological counseling with medical techniques and therapies, we’re confident we can help you achieve a full and satisfying sex life. That is our goal.

This wouldn’t be possible without our highly-regarded staff of female sexual health experts. Our patient-centric approach is embraced by our experienced team consisting of nurse practitioners, therapists, licensed social workers and certified menopause practitioners. Together, they consider all facets of your general health and medical history — whatever it takes to get the full picture — and then develop a treatment plan. No one else applies this breadth of expertise to sexual health.

Overseeing all treatment and patient care is Michael A. Werner, MD, a board-certified urologist and microsurgeon. He reviews all evaluations and lab results, oversees treatment, and follows all patient care.

This level of attention to detail also continues as we monitor the progress of your treatment. We have our own lab on the premises to ensure accurate testing and analyses. We also have private exam rooms in-house. Being comfortable goes a long way towards reducing anxiety.

To round out our story, we note that there is also a Maze Men’s Sexual & Reproductive Health practice (founded by Dr. Werner in 1994), with a similar breadth of experts poised to address male sexual health and reproduction, either independently or in concert with a partner.

A satisfying sex life and healthy sense of sexuality are among the most exciting, creative chapters of being human because they so strongly express our desire to join with and to love others. It is our great joy to be doing work that is so vital and life-affirming, and we look forward to serving you.
