With restaurants, bars, cafes, movie theaters, concert halls, and sports events off limits for now, how do we date?
Here is an opportunity for creativity to thrive. We live in a most amazing technological time where we can see and communicate with each other without being in the same place. A coffee date can involve having coffee together on Facetime! Nintendo can be played together on-line. How about watching a movie, cooking, baking, reading via video chat? I read that Netflix has a “watch together” feature. Even flirting on the phone can be satisfying. These suggestions are not to minimize the frustration of being unable to reach out and touch someone, but there’s still a real chance to have a meaningful time.
I think we are all feeling in a state of suspended animation. Dating at this time may feel like more trouble than it’s worth for some, and for others, worth a try. You never know. It could be a walk in the park, as long as you are 6 feet apart at all times!
