This is a question we get from so many of our patients midway through treatment for vaginismus. Many come in with almost no hope of ever being able to get in the smallest of dilators. So when they have made it to about the medium size dilator they realize that it will be possible to have intercourse. However, they still have little faith that intercourse will be pain free. And it is totally understandable they would have this fear. However, pain free intercourse is absolutely possible! At MAZE it is our goal for all vaginismus patients we treat to not just be able to “have intercourse,” but to have “pain free and enjoyable intercourse.”
